Position Overview:
The Medical Record Clerk facilitates accurate and timely filing, maintenance and retrieval of medical records and reports. This position creates and routes chart folders for new patients, collects all current discharges and old charts from nursing units, surgery and the Emergency Department. This position also functions in reception and chart assembly areas.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- Prior experience in a hospital medical record department preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Excellent knowledge of numeric and alphabetic filing systems.
Medical Terminology preferred.
Basic computer keyboard skills are required.
Excellent organizational and basic clerical skills required.
Attention to detail required.

Pay Range is $27.65 to $34.71 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
