Position Overview:

The RN First Assistant ( RNFA ) renders direct patient care as part of the perioperative role by assisting the surgeon in the surgical treatment of the patient. The responsibility of functioning as first assistant must be based on documented knowledge and skills acquired after specialized preparation, formal instruction and supervised practice.

SIGN ON BONUS: $20,000 Available to external candidates in accordance with the Sutter Health policy

EDUCATION:

Other: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

RN-Registered Nurse of California

CNOR-Certified Perioperative Nurse

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

5 years of recent relevant experience.

Three years experience as RN in the Operating Room encompassing both the circulator and the scrub roles.

Pay Range is $66.74 to $90.31 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
