Position Overview:

Sutter Roseville Medical Center offers acute care for all ages in a healing environment enhanced by a 57-acre, oak-studded landscape. Sutter Roseville has 405 licensed beds, a full array of services and programs designed to serve the growing community, and a level II American College of Surgeons-verified Trauma Center serving a seven-county region. In Roseville, we provide integrated healthcare services through the growing Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Sutter Medical Foundation and Sutter Rehabilitation Institute. Specialized services included Sutter Cancer Center, Roseville, the Family Birth Center, and the Trauma Center.

Our tradition of providing leading medical care to the growing community continues today. since opening Sutter Roseville in 1997 we have made significant additions to the medical center that include the Breast Health Center and Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgery, new technology, state of the art equipment, and top of the line health care services to Roseville and the surrounding area.

Assures that residents receive training sufficient to meet and exceed the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Program Requirements for the residency program. Such training occurs during specialized didactic presentations, during rotation and longitudinally during outpatient precepting. As appropriate, the training is also integrated into rotations in various disciplines. Issues are regularly addressed within the context of the resident's outpatient practice within the relevant and appropriate model of patient care. Additional duties that fall under this position are administrative support for the program to support its mission and goals. Collaborates with wellness director and program leadership to deliver faculty development. Other duties as required.

EDUCATION:

  • Doctorate: related field.

DEPARTMENT REQUIRED CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • PSY-Psychologist of California.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 Years of recent relevant experience.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assure that residents meet curricular requirements as stipulated by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

  • Coordinates 10-15 hours of didactic material per year.

  • Develops an appropriate collection of reference resources in the relevant field.

  • Assures that residents use behavior science principles in patient care.

  • Is available for consultations during outpatient hours.

  • Supervises residents in counseling their patients and offers co-therapy for residents who desire it.

  • Participates in inpatient rounds.

  • Develops and teaches a 9-hour course on brief intervention skills during the block time (Continuum).

  • Co-facilitates monthly group.

  • Promotes physician wellness.

  • Establishes and conducts support and/or professional growth groups as needed and facilitates twice monthly confidential resident only support group.

  • Provides consultations/support for residents and their families reinforcing resident growth.

  • Assists in evaluation and documentation of resident progress.

  • Participates in setting goals and evaluating residents, providing support, assistance and remediation as needed.

  • Help develop evaluation instruments.

  • Keeps records of resident progress for purposes of program documentation and resident evaluation and feedback.

  • Establishes a program for resident videotaping and video reviews and provides written and oral feedback to residents for their permanent file as part of the required performance evaluation process.

  • Participates in program governance.

  • Facilitates Sacramento track Patient Advisory Council.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of the requirements of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the ACGME requirements for residency programs.

  • Knowledge of clinical programs, hospital services and community services.

  • Knowledge of child and adolescent psychology.

  • Knowledge of brief interventions/solution focused therapy.

  • Experience in interviewing, evaluation and recruiting health professionals.

Pay Range is $52.01 to $78.03 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
