Position Overview:

Assists in the planning, execution and delivery of assurance and consulting projects. Fosters strategic relationships with other functions and affiliates. Improves the efficient and effective delivery of the Department’s assurance and consulting services. Participates in the development of the departmental work plan and risk assessment activities.

The Internal Audit team supports Sutter Health in advancing its mission and fulfilling its organizational goals by providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to systematically evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. This role assists in advancing the departmental mission in a manner consistent with the values and standards of Sutter Health, the Department and the internal audit profession. We emphasize integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency in our services and focus on collaboration and teamwork within our department.

An ideal candidate will have worked in public accounting or within an internal audit department.

This is a hybrid role and candidate must live within a commutable distance from Sacramento, CA. Some on-site work is required (e.g., meetings, etc.). When not on site, candidate has the option to work from home.

Job Description :

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's: Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or other Business Administration area, or equivalent education/experience.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

2 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

CPA-Certified Public Accountant, or CIA-Certified Internal Auditor, or CISA-Certified Information Systems Auditor preferred but not required.

Knowledge of internal audit leading practices and computerized auditing techniques.

General knowledge of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Advanced analytical and project management skills, including the ability to analyze data and information, reach practical conclusions, recommend corrective actions, resolve conflicts, and institute effective changes.

Able to display a high degree of professionalism and leadership.

Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical or sensitive information related to audit activities clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.

Proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), Microsoft Visio or other flowcharting tool, audit software applications.

Ability to:

  • Work independently, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, while demonstrating excellent organization skills.

  • Manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously, sometimes with rapidly changing priorities.

  • Maintain audit schedule.

  • Meet tight and often conflicting deadlines.

  • Analyze possible solutions using precedents, existing departmental guidelines and policies, experience and good judgment to identify and solve standard problems.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).

  • Build collaborative relationships with peers, other departments, stakeholders, and external agencies.

Pay Range is $42.98 to $64.47 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
