Sutter Health Grants & Contracts Analyst III Post-Award-Research Institute* in San Francisco, California
The Research Institute of California Pacific Medical Center exists to provide pre- and post- award grants management and compliance oversight for CPMC and other affiliated institutions and departments within Sutter Health.
The major functions for post-award grants management and administration for federal and private foundations for basic sciences and clinical research. This position will work with a team of post award analysts providing financial and compliance oversight of grants and contract awarded to the Research Institute. This position will provide management of R01, Cooperative Agreements, Center Grants and Program Project Grants and other award mechanisms that are of moderate to high complexity. Management will include an entire portfolio of an investigator or laboratory. Management includes financial reporting and projections, assistance with progress reports, an understanding of all the reporting requirements and the notice of grant award, as well as an understanding of policies, guidelines, and regulations pertaining to effective grants management. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and organized individual who thrives in demanding and challenging environment.
College Degree plus at least 3 years of experience in grants policies or financial processes is strongly desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma required with at least 8 yrs + experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of grants management and accounting standards and the ability to apply established practices and concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS Word skills
Good knowledge of accounting practices; Lawson experience preferred
Comfortable handling complex analysis requiring generalized knowledge of policies and procedures in the analysis and managements of grants and contracts
Meticulous attention to details is required since oversights in work or achieving only partial results may cause critical expenditures and delays
Demonstrated ability for financial forecasting
Comfortable employing interpretive thinking to find solutions; Determine and locate distinct sources for collecting information and recommend solutions to problems of substantial complexity
