Position Overview:

The Angiography Technologist/ Cardiac Cath Technologist provides technical services and support duties in the areas of invasive diagnostic, interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The incumbent operates and is accountable for sophisticated, expensive, computerized equipment in providing quality patient care, resulting in accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease. The incumbent performs patient care duties associated with invasive procedures while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort on all cases. This position functions in a highly specialized and unique area and must be available to participate in a varying work schedule, as part of the on-call rotation, on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Associate's: A.A. degree required in physical sciences or healthcare-related sciences, or A.S. degree from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology with emphasis on invasive Cardiac and Vascular Technology.

  • Associate's: An A.A. degree from an accredited school of Radiology Technology.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire

  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire

  • RHF - Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days if required at the affiliate

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years recent clinical experience/background in the areas of hemodynamic monitoring, ECG interpretation, scrubbing invasive cardiac procedures in an invasive Cath Lab is preferred.

  • Experience in an invasive Vascular Lab without Cath Lab experience will be considered.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Working clinical knowledge in cardiac anatomy and physiology is required, and a working knowledge of invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in recognition and interpretation of ECG’s, cardiac pathophysiology, cardiac hemodynamics and radiographic principles/procedures is required, with the ability to demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving.

  • Knowledge of principles of radiation safety is required.

  • The Angiography Technologist should be familiar with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

  • The incumbent will be able to function in all roles in the Cath Lab (monitoring, scrubbing, radiographic support, exhibit good eye-hand coordination, and demonstrate the ability to operate a wide variety of equipment including, but not limited to, physiologic monitors, recorders, catheters, wires, computers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, intravascular ultrasound, pacemakers and defibrillators.

  • Computer skills include demonstrated proficiency in window’s based programs and report generation.

  • Should be adept at trouble shooting instrumentation and demonstrate resourcefulness in problem solving.

  • Completion of hospital orientation and department orientation.

  • The incumbent must be adaptable to a varying work schedule and fulfill and on-call rotation.

Pay Range is $56.63 to $70.40 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
