Position Overview:

Supply Technicians, distribute and issue supplies. This position processes all outgoing mail and sorts and distributes incoming mail. Additionally, this position may be assigned to inventory, issue, distribute and re­stock warehoused supplies for specified hospital departments. Position may be assigned to prepare and place orders, research and resolve supply and receiving problems, assist with special purchasing requests, assist with projects by analyzing and comparing costs, add updated information to the purchasing computer system, file paperwork, and other tasks (clerical and purchasing related) as assigned.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • One year related hospital experience or demonstration of competency required that would result in a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of medical supplies and healthcare distribution practices.

  • Warehouse, purchasing and receiving experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, in distribution, with computerized purchasing software or other related healthcare field highly desirable.

  • Experience working with Lawson Materials Management Programs, Microsoft Word and Excel also desirable.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple tasks while remaining calm and focused.

  • Must be able to train others, and act as a resource to Supply Technicians in matters of product knowledge and distribution practices.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to maintain accurate records.

  • Must be able to listen, communicate effectively, and work closely with others in a team setting.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment used to transport and retrieve pallets.

  • Ability to accurately complete detail-oriented tasks essential.

  • Computer skill in Lawson Materials Management Programs, Microsoft Word and Excel highly desirable.

Pay Range is $26.04 to $32.38 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
