Position Overview:
The registered nurse provides individualized nursing care based on knowledge of basic competencies in the fundamentals of peri-anesthesia nursing and pharmacology using the nursing process applied to geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge. This position requires knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology, including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and reactions to medications. Competency in central line management. Requires on-call to include overnight, weekends, and holidays. Response time is 30 minutes.

EDUCATION
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider
PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support Healthcare Provider
RN-Registered Nurse of California
Chemotherapy Certification required
EXPERIENCE
PACU experience with recovering OR cases.
1-year PACU or Critical Care experience as an RN required in a similar acute care setting required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
The ability to get along with co-workers or peers.
Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
The ability to recognize potential hazards and follow appropriate precautions.
The ability to understand and remember detailed instructions.
Must be able to demonstrate communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Must be able to demonstrate age-related competencies for neonate through geriatrics.
Must demonstrate the ability to provide education on wound/skin care and to adapt teaching techniques to skill level/teaching method preference of patient or care giver/family member learner.
Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Basic computer skills, including PC and Windows applications.
In depth knowledge of nursing process and performance improvement in depth knowledge of current wound care standards of practice

Pay Range is $60.45 to $82.68 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
