Sutter Health Manager, Medical Device Integration - Cyber Security in West Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

This position is available to work from home in Northern California within the Sutter Health footprint.

Responsible for Cyber Security, Medical Device Vulnerability, Medical Device Integration, and Project Management of medical equipment technology.

Manages the overall organization and structure to support the definition and implementation of the service management methodology, focusing on medical equipment standards and practices. Primary functions include, data security definition and oversight, medical device cybersecurity management, remediation of identified security flaws on medical devices, regulatory compliance, enterprise system architecture definition and standardization. Responsible for leading organizational technology integration projects designed to improve the clinical, operational, administrative, and long-term growth initiatives across the Sutter Health system. Collaborates with management to identify organizational strategic capabilities and needs in line with established and emerging standards. Establish comprehensive action plans to address gaps to enable successful execution of medical device integration and cybersecurity management and technology advancement. This role provides strategic guidance, provides recommendations, and supports the implementation of the medical equipment service management methodology including testing, release management, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity management and environment functions across the enterprise and consistent with Sutter standards.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Forensic HiTech Investigator (CFHI), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+), GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), and/or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Project Management Professional (PMP), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's or equivalent education/experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Clinical technology management as seen in, operations leadership experience preference towards area manager, region leadership etc.

• Healthcare medical equipment network integration management experience.

• Cybersecurity management experience, preferably with medical devices.

• Maintains an accurate inventory of Networked Medical Devices or devices containing ePHl.

• Extensive knowledge of commonly used medical device integration standards such as DICOM, HL7, Custom API’s

• Advanced knowledge in IS technologies such as network infrastructure including servers, firewalls, routers, Wireless AP’s, desktop workstation architecture

• Coordinates and/or implements software patches / updates in collaboration with Clinical Staff, Original Equipment Manufacturers and the IS Department.

• Works with IT and security staff to identify and mitigate risks; helps to enforce policies and procedures on medical devices and IoT systems

• Extensive work experience in project management methods and techniques, including risk and issue evaluation, and development and implementation of sophisticated project work plans.

• Collaborate with the IT and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain medical device security protocols, ensuring patient data confidentiality and protection against cyber threats.

• Demonstrated experience in managing project portfolios and programs as well as the formulation and execution of successful work teams and projects.

• Significant experience using project management tools such as Microsoft project, Smartsheet, CMMS and resource tracking and documentation systems

• Group leadership and organizational development background; experience working with clinical data analysis is essential to success in this role.

• Prioritization of multiple projects and information requests

• Ability to understand Sutter specific business and technical context of changes

• Ability to effectively coordinate, market and develop relationships with end-users, business/IS leadership, and vendors

• Program management, issue identification and resolution skills

• Effective written and oral presentation skills

• Broad understanding of the Sutter Health Business (goals, strategies, and objectives) as well as the Sutter Health Landscape (Acute, Ambulatory sites)

• Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with minimal direction and supervision

Financial Skills:

• Ability to develop and present project business case presentation with financial forecasting and budget recommendations

• Prioritization of multiple projects and information requests, tracking of staff and costs

Leadership Skills:

• Ability to drive adoption and change in the organization

• Management capabilities to establish and direct team as well as develop culture of accountability and discipline

• Ability to understand Sutter specific business and technical context of changes

• Ability to effectively coordinate, market and develop relationships with end-users, business/IT leadership and vendors

• Program management, issue identification and resolution skills

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-discipline, multi-organizational project team

Pay Range is $62.95 to $94.42 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
